Natural Sports Drink RecipesTake a look at these natural sports drink recipes. If you are looking for a way to put some electrolytes back into your body after a tough workout but don’t want all the sugars and dyes that come in commercial sports drinks? we have stumbled upon some great natural sports drink recipes to try out for yourself.

Natural Lemon-Lime Sports Drink Recipe.

Ingredients:
½ cup Lemon Juice (fresh squeezed)
¼ cup Lime Juice (fresh squeezed)
½ cup raw honey
1 tsp. of sea salt
1 quart water

Method:

Squeeze 1 full lime and 2 full lemons on a hand juicer and set juice aside. Add water, honey and salt to a large pot and simmer on high until all ingredients are mixed together. Allow to mixture to cool to room temperature then add lemon and lime juice to a pitcher and shake well. Keep refrigerated for 3 hours or until chilled to your liking. You can pour into serving size bottles for easy and convenient use.

One thing to take note of is that it is very important to use the most pure ingredients especially with the honey. If you use regular store bought honey chances are it is pasteurized or contains high fructose corn syrup which is just as bad if not worse than what goes into those commercial sports drinks in the first place.

Natural Watermelon Cantaloupe Recipe

Ingredients:

½ watermelon
1 cantaloupe

Method:
Peel melons from rinds and process in a juice machine. Mix both juices together and store in serving size bottles. Since the juice is fresh without and preservatives you will need to use within two days or you can freeze the bottles and defrost on the day of your workout for a truly refreshing natural sports drink.
