We have all had those bad days where nothing seems to go right. You wake up late, spill your coffee, get stopped at every stoplight and that’s just on your way to work. No matter what kind of will power you have, a bad day can quickly spiral out of control and derail your productivity at work and strain your relationships with your significant other, coworkers, children you name it.
Stay on track and don’t let those negative vibes snowball out of control by using our simple advice.
• Listen to Music
Music is an instant mood booster so take a few minutes away from all of the fires you’re trying to put out, plug in your ipod and vibe out to some Bob Marley or whatever gets you going.
• Phone a Friend
Talking to a friend or a loved one is a great way to take your mind off your own troubles. Don’t be tempted to vent your problems off on the other person just say hello and shoot the bull about non related topics. You will be surprised at how soon all of those black clouds seem to disappear.
• Take a deep Breath
When your body experiences stress your muscles tighten, blood pressure raises and your breathing is shortened. Take notice of these stress signals and concentrate on your breathing. By taking deep breathes a signal is automatically sent to your brain to calm down and relax.
When you finally make it back home after a bad day find a way to unwind. Go for a run, pour yourself a drink (not the whole bottle), or kick your feet up and relax a little. Remove yourself from your smart phone and just remember tomorrow is a new day.
