Meat Free Vacation

Everybody needs a break now and again. That goes for your digestive system as much as it does for your mind and well-being. It’s an unfortunate reality that our modern-day diet relies heavily on processed foods to meet growing demand for availability and cost-effectiveness.

Processed Foods

while most of our readers lean towards fresh, naturally sourced ingredients, it’s unlikely that all of us have excluded all processed foods from our kitchens. That means, over time, those refined sugars, fats, oils and carbohydrates start to build up in our systems. Liver, kidney and intestinal function gets sluggish or inconsistent, and it becomes a good idea to eliminate that which is contributing to problems. Even in a healthy diet, meat can be one of the biggest culprits for impurities. Why? Well, consider that cattle, poultry, seafood and other meats are built out of thousands of meals those animals eat over their lifetimes. So, you have to call into question the purity of those animals’ diets, too, because toxins or undesirable elements are concentrated into every bit you eat. Even grass-fed beef is exposed to whatever impurities lie in the pasture where the animals graze. Maybe planning a complete erradication from meat might not seems possible, so why not try out a meat free vacation?

Cutting meat out of your vacation plans.

Can give your body a break and chance to reset by eliminating a major source of potential problems for a short period of time. At the same time, you’ll be broadening your exposure to other protein sources, which is kind of like a vacation for your palate. You’ll likely feel more energized during your time off meat also, which is always a benefit when on vacation when you want to see and do as much as possible. Who knows, you may even explore new cuisines that inspire you to future vacation destination choices.
